#WAD2012: Recalling highlights over the decades in the fight against HIV/AIDS
Of course you should remember him, Nkosi Johnson, the South African kid born with HIV who was adopted by the white woman, Gail Johnson. He did not live to adulthood, yet his short-lived life was so meaningful with the great impact he had on the fight against HIV- especially about #NoStigma.
The theme for World AIDS Day 2011-2015 is “Getting to Zero: Zero new HIV infections. Zero Discrimination. Zero AIDS related deaths”. As at the time of brave Nkosi’s speech in the World AIDS conference, there was just a flicker of hope for the possible widespread prevention of mother-to-child transmission of HIV.
